A Sligo County Councillor is calling for a ban on the use of inflatable toys in open water.
Water Safety Ireland is urging parents and guardians never to allow inflatable toys to be used on rivers, lakes or beaches.
But Sligo-Drumcliffe Councillor Donal Gilroy says the authorities need to go further.
