The Programme for Government has been described as ‘a disappointing document’ that does not represent the change and lacks proposals for the northwest and especially Sligo Town which had previously been designated as a Regional Growth Centre in the national Development Plan.
That’s according to Sligo MEP Chris MacManus who claims the proposed document lacks ambition and fails to prioritise the North West
The Sligo MEP says urban areas that have recently elected new Green party TD’s seem to be benefiting from the programme while the north west has been very much left on the back burner:
