Yeats Day is being celebrated in Sligo today.
The 155th birthday of the Nobel Prize winning Poet, W.B. Yeats, is today and the Yeats Society in Sligo are marking it with a new takeaway ‘Coffee Hatch’ in the Yeats Building.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the 61st Yeats International Summer School which was due to begin on the 30th of July has been cancelled.
However, Susan O’Keeffe, Director of the Yeats Society Sligo, has been telling Ocean FM News that the day is being acknowledged online and with a celebratory cake in the new Cafe.
