There is further bad news on the jobs front in Sligo this morning.
Mothercare Ireland is being placed into liquidation with the loss of 197 jobs across the country.
The family that owns the franchise in the Republic say its 14 stores including the Sligo branch which is situated in the Cleveragh Retail Park will not reopen following the Covid-19 crisis.
The owners claim that the business is no longer sustainable.
The company has been operating in Ireland since 1992 with other outlets in the likes of Dublin, Cork, Galway and Kerry.
