There are real fears in the north west this morning that a proposed financial package for beef finishers which will be announced by the minister for agriculture Michael Creed will omit Suckler cow farmers.
The details of the scheme will be announced later today by minister Creed in the Dáil.
The closure of the food service sector across Europe really hit beef finishers in recent times, however the chairperson of the IFA In Sligo Kathleen Henry says Suckler Cow farmers have also been adversely affected.
