Pringle urges caution when removing pandemic payments



A Donegal TD has urged the government to give very careful consideration to any plans they have to phase out the pandemic unemployment payment.

 

The emergency payment, which costs the State €200m a week, will be slashed for part-time workers by 40% before it is phased out for full-time employees.

 

According to the Irish Independent, the 350 euro payment will be reduced to the Job seeker’s allowance rate of 203 euro for part-time employees.
