A local TD is calling for changes to planning permissions for one off houses in rural areas.
Independent TD, Marian Harkin, raised concerns over the current rules which she says has an urban mindset and ideology, especially the likes of County Leitrim.
Councillors recently highlighted the fact that permission was given for only two one off houses in the county for 2019.
When raised in the Dail recently, Minister of State for Local Government, John Paul Phelan, agreed that there needed to be changes saying we need to ‘drop the blinkers’.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Deputy Harkin says we need to find solutions for people.
