Physical distancing restrictions must be eased for bars

A Sligo Publican has urged the government to follow W.H.O. guidelines and reduce the physical distancing measures from two metres to one metre from bars and restaurants.

Capacities in pubs and bars/restaurants will drop to as little as one eighth of pre Covid-19 crisis levels under the HSE social distancing guidelines where a distance of two metres is required.

Adrian Tansey from the Crossbar in Gurteen says that only admitting 25% of normal capacity would make it impossible for many bars to stay in business.
