Local Councillor welcomes free flu vaccine

A Sligo Councillor is welcoming the news that children and those in at risks groups in the north west will receive the flu vaccine for free the winter.


There will be no charge for children aged between 2 and 12 and those in groups the HSE has designated as at risk aged between 6 months and 69 years old; over 70’s already have access for free.


Health Minister, Simon Harris, says that a resurgence of Covid-19 during the traditional flu season ‘could present a significant challenge’ to the nations health services.
