Lissadell events could be the catalyst for Sligo’s Covid-recovery

The news that Up to 12 concerts a year are to be staged at Lissadell House in Co. Sligo could well prove to be ‘a game changer for the local economy’ that’s according to the Cathaoirleach of Sligo Council Cllr. Tom MacSharry.

The owners of historic 19th century building have come to an arrangement with Vicar Street owner Harry Crosbie and promoter Peter Aiken to have the concerts over the next 5 years.

The concerts will be expected to accommodate up to 15,000 people.

Speaking earlier to OceanFM news, Cllr MacSharry says the news is a hugely positive development for the North West and encouraged all concerned to brace the development which could be as he described be the cornerstone for Sligo’s post Covid- recovery.
