Lissadell House to stage 12 concerts a year over next 5 years

Up to 12 concerts a year are to be staged at Lissadell House in Co. Sligo.

The owners of historic 19th century building have come to an arrangement with Vicar Street owner Harry Crosbie and promoter Peter Aiken to have the concerts over the next 5 years.

Mr Crosbie says there won’t be any seating but a ‘sloping grass arena’ hopes to accommodate about 15,000 people.

There are also no plans for festivals or overnight camping facilities with the aim being to hold one off concerts.

Speaking to OceanFM News this morning, Lissadell House’s Constance Cassidy says it’s hoped it will be an economic boost for the north west in the county she calls the ‘adventure capital’ of Ireland.
