Over 166,000 euro has been allocated to Sligo County Council by the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed under the 2020 Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme.
The funding will be used for the improvement of three piers in Co. Sligo.
€84,000 has been earmarked for the Easkey Pier, €67,500 has been allocated to Aughris Pier and €15,000 is being allocated to the Milk Harbour Pier.
Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan says the funding will be used for carrying out important structural work on the three faculties.
