Education Minister asked to clarify why school trips have been postponed for 2021

The Minister for Education is being called on to clarify if any instruction has been given to Education and Training Boards with regard to school trips and events that were scheduled for the 2020/21 academic year.

The Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Transport, Tourism, and Sport Marc Mac Sharry has made the calls after a number of those involved in the tourism industry contacted him following the cancellation of excursions in the year ahead, allegedly following a directive from ETB’s.

Speaking to OceanFM news, the Sligo Leitrim TD, called on Minister McHugh needs to clarify what directive, if any, has been issued as any such moves would have the potential to seriously damage an already fragile tourism sector.
