Easing of Covid-19 restrictions begins today

Phase one of the roadmap to easing Ireland’s Covid-19 restrictions gets under way today.

Hardware stores, garden centres, electrical, IT and phone sales outlets across the North West will all reopen.

The number of new cases of Covid-19 reported yesterday was below 100 for the second day in a row.

Ten more patients have died and 64 more positive tests have been confirmed, the lowest levels since mid-March.

There are now 683 cases in the North West.  One new case was reported in last night’s figures in Donegal bringing the total for the County to 475, the numbers in Sligo and Leitrim remained unchanged yesterday staying at 129 and 79 respectively/

HSE clinical lead Colm Henry says health authorities have to proceed with extreme caution.
