Sligo Stages Rally postponed

The Sligo Stages Rally for 2020 has been postponed.

The event was scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 12th.

The decision is in keeping with  current guidelines of the government and HSE which prompted  Motorsport Ireland’s extension of the suspension of all permitted events until July 20th.

Stage rallies across Ireland may be rescheduled after August 10th as they fall under Phase 5 of the Government Roadmap for Reopening.

But, as things stand, the Sligo event won’t be happening this year.

Event PRO Padraic Boylan spoke to Austin O’Callaghan about the decision:

Clerk of the Course for 2020, Ultan McGowan, whose team of volunteers has been working diligently over the past six month in preparation for the July event, said: “I am disappointed for my team, but what’s more important at this time is the health and wellbeing of our communities.”

“We want to thank the businesses who had committed to support us again this year, many going through a difficult period at this time, and hope that we can build on that relationship in the future.”
