One in five club players won’t return

The Club Players Association (CPA) says 22% of its members aren’t prepared to train collectively or play football again until a vaccine is found.

The CPA surveyed its members last week and from 3,008 respondents, 57% were willing to return in the absence of a vaccine. Another 21% were unsure.

61% are prepared to attend club matches, while just 34% said they were willing to go to intercounty games.

The figures come following confirmation from GAA President John Horan that there will be no return to play as long as social distancing measures remain in place.
