Donegal Council to suspend traffic charges

The decision taken by Donegal County Council to suspend parking charges across the county during the Covid-19 pandemic has been described as a common sense reaction to the crisis.

The local authority says there has been no formal suspension of parking charges however, the Council’s traffic wardens are not active due to being deemed non-essential workers.

Donegal County Council is one of 13 Councils across Ireland suspending parking charges.

Donegal MD Councillor Barry Sweeney has welcomed the decision and has suggested redeploying the traffic wardens as litter wardens.
