IT Sligo student’s showjumping ambitions on hold during pandemic



While most sportsmen and women are at home with the families during current shuttown, spare a thought for one IT Sligo student who’s here in Sligo and unable to return to see her family right now.

Angela Kosko, who’s from Italy, is a second year degree student in Human Nutrition at the Institute. She’s still here in Sligo studying for her end of year assessments which will be delivered online.

She’s also a keen showjumper – and was recently picked to represent her college and Ireland in the national universities showjumping team to compete at international events in Belgium this month and Sweden in July.  Those events are obviously on hold now because of the covid emergency.

Angela spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan about her showjumping ambitions – and being unable to return home to see her family in Italy during the Covid emergency:
