A Sligo/ Leitrim Fine Gael T.D. has claimed that “the only way to safely begin to remove the lockdown restrictions after 5th May, is with a stringent and increased testing capacity.
The claims have been made by the Fine Gael TD, Frank Feighan.
Speaking earlier to Ocean FM the Sligo based TD says with such measures in place, spikes of community cases of Covid-19 can be quickly identified in the future and to ensure that new measures can be put in place to deal with them locally.
This in turn Deputy Feighan says would allow local businesses to re-open and help kick start the economy:
