Those who’s medical card are due to expire during the Covid-19 pandemic will be extended for at least a year.
A HSE statement says that this will be done automatically and there is no need for you to make contact with them.
Once the pandemic is over, they will write to people letting them know what will happen going forward.
Independent Sligo Councillor, Marie Casserly says people have been contacting her with concerns as their card is due to expire soon.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Casserly says if you’re not eligible for a medical card, you will be assessed for a GP Visit Card.
