Road users advised to take extra care over holiday period

Road users in the counties of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have been urged to take extra care this weekend.

With the region’s hospitals expected to see an increase in the number of patients presenting with possible Covid-19 symptoms, Sligo Fianna Fáil Councillor Donal Gilroy has backed the calls of leading medical professional Fergal Hickey in where he highlighted the impact that a large number of road accident casualties would have on the Accident and Emergency Departments of the regions hospitals.

Cllr Glroy says it is the responsibility of all road users to ensure that road casualties are kept to a minimum over the Easter Weekend and allow front line medical staff to focus on the battle with Covid-19.
