Doherty calls for measures to help re-launch economy



 

Following the publication of the latest live register figures by the CSO, calls are being made on Government to ensure that post-crisis, the supports are in place to ensure business in the North West will be able to re-open.

 

There has been a surge of twenty four thousand  new applicants for jobseekers allowances in the space of the last month.

 

Over two hundred and eighty three thousand people are receiving the Pandemic Unemployment Payment and in excess of twenty five thousand benefiting from the Temporary Covid-19 Wage Subsidy Scheme.

 

The Sinn Fein Spokesperson on finance is Pearse Doherty, he says that although the economy has been placed in an induced coma it’s vital that thought is placed into how the economy can be re-launched
