‘Beef plan movement’ call for farmers to unite



The Chairman of the beef plan movement in Leitrim says ‘now is the time for farmers in the north west to unite, and support each other in the face of the Covid-19 challenge’.

Various support schemes are in place to help farmers that contract Covid-19 including Teagasc setting up a Regional Farm Labour Database that would link farm families to an available relief worker.

Brendan Barry says farmers will provide assistance to each other in times of crisis and will show solidary in helping fellow farmers that become sick.

He spoke to Ocean FM’s John Lynch on Thursday:
