MacManus accuses of AIB of ‘shameful behaviour’

A north west member of the European Parliament is hitting out at Allied Irish Bank over charging quarterly fees to financially-strapped unemployed customers who are now dependant on the Covoid-19 payment.

The fees do not apply to customers who have more than €2,500 in their accounts

MEP Chris MacManus says what AIB is doing is shameful, with people in some cases being charged thirty, forty or fifty euros in quarterly fees.

He says he has been contacted by many constituents about issue.
