London v Roscommon cancelled

The GAA has confirmed that the Connacht football championship quarter-final between London and Roscommon in Ruislip on May 3rd has been cancelled in light of the continuing coronavirus outbreak.

This is the second Connacht SFC championship game to be postponed – the New York v Galway game on the same date was called off a couple of weeks ago.

Despite the postponements, the GAA has not made any decision on what changes (if any) will be made to this Summer’s football championship.

Speaking to RTÉ radio on Thursday morning, the association’s Director of Games Development and Leitrim native Fergal McGill said

“The current situation is is that there are no changes to any of our championship structures,” GAA Director of Player, Club and Games Administration Feargal McGill told RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland.

“They are due to start on 10 May, which is well outside the 19 April date that the government has flagged, so that’s still a possibility at this point.”
