New covid-19 measures introduced for local marts

Mart Mangers across the north west have introduced new measures for all their marts which are to take immediate effect from today throughout the region.

The local marts have collectively put forward a number of guidelines which they be adhering to over the coming weeks in order to continue trading while also complying with government guidelines and maintaining health and safety standards for both farmers and staff.

The measures will include the entry of buyers only to marts, the closure of mart canteens. All livestock being dealt with by the respective staff of the marts.

Eimear McGuiness is the manager of the Donegal Co-op Mart.

She says these measures will hopefully ensure that the marts will remain open
