A North Leitrim Councillor has called on those seeking a Seanad seat to suspend face to face canvasing with immediate effect.
Manorhamilton Municipal District Councillor Sean McDermott has made the calls in light of the recent restrictions that have been put in place to try and stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Cllr McDermott says that despite yesterday’s government announcement on the restrictions, there are still potential senators prowling the entire country looking to secure coveted votes from County Councillors.
