Health recruitment ban should be lifted to combat coronavirus

Calls are being made on the HSE to immediately lift all barriers on recruitment for Health & Social Care Professionals in order to ensure the country’s public health system is adequately prepared for the rapid progress of the Covid-19 virus.

The calls are being made by the Fórsa trade union.

The Country’s largest public service trade union is claiming failure to do so would have serious implications for those who contact the virus in the North West.

Niall Shanahan is communications officer with Forsa, he says with health professionals having to cover large areas in counties such as Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal it’s vital than any recruitment bans in place are lifted immediately.
