Private and volunteer nursing homes being ‘discriminated’ against

Private and volunteer nursing homes in the north west are being discriminated against under the Fair Deal Scheme.

That’s according to the CEO of the Nursing Homes Ireland, Tadhg Daly, who says HSE run centres are getting paid an average of 60% more per patient in Co. Sligo.

The figure jumps to 68% in Leitrim and 81% in Donegal.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says the Fair Deal Scheme should be a ‘fair deal for all.’
