INMO Health official believes Covid 19 will put severe pressure on HSE

A leading health official has warned that coronavirus will put the Irish Health care system under severe pressure.

With more cases of the virus being diagnosed on a daily basis it’s expected that regional hospitals such as Sligo and Letterkenny will be called upon to treat a number of patients that come in contact with Covid 19.

Tony Fitzpatrick is the director of industrial relations with the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

He says hospitals such as Sligo and Letterkenny have plans in place to deal with the coronavirus and patients with underlying conditions will be prioritised.
