North West Farmers under major stress

A leading farm official in the North West says that the mental health of farmers is being put at risk due to the adverse weather conditions of the past month.

A large area of agricultural land is currently underwater across the region and as a result the amount of fodder that will be available is expected to be reduced in the months ahead.

IFA Connacht Regional Chairman Pat Murphy says that many farmers are under severe stress.
