Collooney train station waiting room reopened following vandalism



The waiting room at the Collooney railway station has been re-opened.

It was closed a month ago due to vandalism which Gardaí still believe was caused by a group of young adults.

As a result of the vandalism, parts for the disabled main door had to be replaced, new fire extinguishers were installed and refurbishment works had to be carried out in the bathroom after it’s believed a fire was started in the toilet.

Sligo Drumcliffe Councillor Thomas Healy who says he is delighted to see this much need facility opened again but is still calling for security cameras to be installed on the platform:
