Sligo Rovers lose 2-0 at Dalymount

Sligo Rovers suffered their third consecutive defeat in the new SSE Airtricity Premier Division on Monday night following a 2-0 defeat to Bohemians at Dalymount Park.

Goals from Danny Mandriou after nine mintues and former Rovers player Kris Twardek in injury-time sealed the win for the home side.

The scoreline was cruel on Liam Buckley’s side, as they battled gamely throughout with new signing Alex Cooper making his debut and impressing.

But clear cut chances were few and far between for Rovers, with arguably the best chance opportunity to Darragh Noone in the closing quarter, but he was unable to supply the required finish.

Substitute Ronan Murray also had a good chance in the dying moments – before Twardek made the game safe for Bohs as the match ticked into injury-time.

Rovers captain David Cawley joined Alan Cawley (no relation) and Keith O’Dwyer on ‘The Rovers Hour’ after the full-time whistle:

Monday night’s results
Bohemians 2 Sligo Rovers 0
Dundalk 3 Cork City 0
Waterford 0 Shamrock Rovers 2
Finn Harps v Shelbourne OFF
St Patrick’s Athletic v Derry City OFF.
