A status orange weather alert has been issued for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
It comes into affect from 10am Sunday morning and remains until 10pm that night.
Met Eireann is predicting wind speeds of upto 80km/h and gusts of up to 120km/h.
Coastal areas will be worst affected and there is a risk of local flooding.
