Saturday’s sporting fixtures & the weather



Saturday’s weather is affecting some of the weekend sporting fixtures.

FOOTBALL
This afternoon’s Ulster under 20 football championship quarter-final between Donegal and Monaghan has been POSTPONED. The game was moved to Letterkenny from Ballybofey, but Ulster GAA confirmed on Twitter that the game is off. All four of today’s quarter-finals have fallen to the weather.

The Connnacht under 20 semi final between Leitrim and Galway will now be played in Mohill today at 2pm. Sligo’s semi with Roscommon goes ahead as planned in Markievicz Park. There’s live coverage here.

HURLING
Today’s national hurling league Diivsion 3 game between Leitrim and Cavan has been moved again. It will now be played on the 3G pitch at Kingspan Breffni at 1pm.

SOCCER
All this weekend’s Connacht Junior Cup and Shield (TP Brennan) games have been postponed once again because of the stormy conditions.

All Sligo-Leitrim junior soccer games are postponed too.
