Finn Harps win season-opening derby against Sligo Rovers

Finn Harps beat their neighbours and north west rivals Sligo Rovers 1-0 in Friday night’s season-opening game to the new SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season.

Karl O’Sullivan’s 56th minute winner proved to be the matchwinner.

Ronan Coughlan and substitute Jesse Devers both had chances to earn at least a share of the spoils for Liam Buckley’s side but, on the night, Harps deserved their win.
