Man dies after an accident on the N4 at Castlebaldwin



Gardaí in Ballymote are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Sligo.

At approximately 12pm, Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision involving a car and a truck just before Taylor’s Art Gallery at Tawnagh on the main N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital. The road is currently closed.

Diversions are in place on both approaches. If you are travelling towards Sligo from Castlebaldwin you will be diverted via McDermotts pub through Ballymote.

If you are travelling to Castlebaldwin from Collooney you will be diverted via the Riverstown turn off.
