The business and entertainment entrepreneur Tommy Higgins has been appointed as the new Chairman of Sligo Rovers FC.
He takes over from Martin Heraghty, who will remain on the club’s management committee but will devoting more time to his commitments with the FAI.
Higgins was one of three new members elected to the committee on Monday night (Roddy Murphy and Rory Houston are to the other two new names).

As part of a joint venture with Ticketmaster, Ticketshop was rebranded Ticketmaster Ireland. He previously served as Executive Vice-President of Ticketmaster Europe. He also served on Ticketmaster’s Global Executive Management team, based in Los Angeles.
The Sligo native is currently chairman of Accent Media – a UK-based company in the internet domain industry.
