‘I want to be Minister for Finance’ – Pearse Doherty



Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty says he wants to be Minister for Finance.

He along with party colleague, Padraig MacLochlainn, were elected on the first count in the Donegal Constituency.

Pearse Doherty topped the poll receiving 21,044 first preference votes and Padraig MacLochlainn got 13,891; the quota is 12,909.

The other 3 seats are all to play for this morning where counting resumes at 10am in the Aura Centre, Letterkenny, where OceanFM will be broadcasting live.

Speaking to OceanFM after the announcement of his victory, Deputy Doherty says if he became Minister,he believes he would make the choices the ‘people of Donegal need.’
