Sligo’s Patrick Myers and Donegal’s Leah Gallen were among the winners at Friday night’s IABA national iunder 18 boxing finals at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Gallen, from Raphoe Boxing Club and a two-time European medallist, retained her welterweight title afer a split-decision win over Shelby Myers.
Patrick Myers (Sligo City Boxing Club) , competing in the final bout of the night, beat Nojus Ivanauskas from St Davids BC in Naas 4-1 to claim the super heavyweight title.
Earlier, there was disappointment for Gateway Boxing Club’s Megan Potter as she was beaten by Castlebar’s Bethany Doocey in the girls light heavyweight contest.
