Gallagher: Need to focus on quality of life

The Green Party’s general election candidate in Sligo/Leitrim says there’s a need to focus on quality of life rather than on a continuous economic growth model that puts money into the pockets of only the few.

Blaithín Gallagher was speaking after her party launched its rural manifesto, which says restoring the natural world and at the same time improving the quality of life in rural Ireland is a 10-year challenge.

She says it will take more than one government to deliver because of the scale of change needed.

She also says the current farming system is not working.
