Tourlestrane’s Nicola Brennan has been named as the new Sligo women’s gaelic football team captain for the 2020 season.
Brennan was a key member of the Tourlestrane team which reached the All-Ireland junior club football final in 2018.
She will lead Sligo out this Sunday (Jan 26th) in their opening Lidl National Football League Division 3 game against Roscommon in Boyle (2pm).
Sligo reached the Division 3 league final in 2019 before losing to Meath, and the All-Ireland intermediate football championship semi-final, which they lost to eventual winners Tipperary.
The Yeats County girls are being managed this year by Leitrim native Micheal Bohan.
