FF leader says transparency needed in beef industry



The Fianna Fail leader says Fianna Fail in government would ensure transparency in the beef industry.

Speaking outside the constituency office of Sligo/Leitrim and South Donegal Fianna Fail TD Marc MacSharry this morning in Sligo Town, Micheál Martin said he hopes the UK can maintain the same trade relationship with Ireland post Brexit to ensure farmers are not hit with a tariffs and taxes on exported produce.

Deputy Martin believes the profit margins for farmers in the beef industry are currently not there, suggesting that more incomes streams need to be made available for farmers in the future.
