The former TD and MEP, Marian Harkin has just confirmed that she will contest the upcoming general election as in independent in the Sligo/Leitrim/South Donegal/North Roscommon constituency.
Harkin who previously served as a TD in Sligo Leitrim from 2002 to 2007 and as an MEP from 2004 to 2019.
There was speculation last year suggesting Marian Harkin would stand as General candidate for Fine Gael.

It’s widely expected that the election will take place in early February
