Sligo teenage tennis player Cliona Walsh won the national indoor under 16 championship at the weekend in Dublin.
Ranked number two in the country at under 16, the Ursuline College student beat the number one seed Rachel McCrumm in Sunday’s final.
“I just had to focus on every point like it was the last one” she said, she dug deep and played some of her best tennis yet to clinch the title,” said Cliona after her win.
Walsh represented Ireland at the European Youth Olympics in Azerbaijan in 2019.
