New business support package to provide a boost for local businesses



The Education Minister has welcomed the announcement of an investment package to support business across the North West in response to Brexit.

Donegal TD Joe McHugh says the money announced will provide a major boost to businesses in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal that will face unique demands in the coming year.

The Money has been broken up into 4 sections with €3 million for local enterprise offices, €8.5 million in the form of a Brexit Transition fund, €1.5 million for industry Research fellowships and a final €15 million competitive Border Enterprise Development Fund.

Commenting on the announcement, Minister McHugh believes the North West is being offered a golden opportunity to continue to deliver cross border goods and  services.
