Over 25 people waiting for a bed at the regions two main University hospitals



28 people are waiting for a bed this morning at the two main acute hospitals in the north west.

Letterkenny University Hospital has 18 people waiting for a bed, with a further 10 at Sligo University Hospital.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisations conduct a count around the country’s hospitals each morning, that are then compiled into their ‘Trolley Watch’ figures.

Nationally there 620 people waiting on trolleys for a bed at Cork University Hospital being worst hit with a new record high of 73 patients with the majority of which aged over 75
