Donegal GAA accounts show surplus of €311K

Donegal GAA recorded an operating surplus of €311,430 for 2019, when the annual accounts were presented at Wednesday night’s Convention in Ballybofey.

County Treasure Alan Boyd reported an increase in sponsorship and gate receipts for the past year – and that team expenses had dropped back below the €1million figure in 2018, to €949,270.

Donegal’s overall turnover was €3.5m during 2019, which included the development costs for the county’s new GAA Centre of Excellence in Convoy.

Boyd signalled that the accounts also show a net current liability of €191K so that the scale of the surplus needed to be kept in context.

The election of officers saw few changes to the top table. Declan Martin was elected unopposed as the new County Secretary in sucesssion to the outgoing Aideen Gillen who has completed her five-year term.

Four Masters clubman and former county Chairman Seán Dunnion was elected as the new Donegal Central Council delegate, in succession to Seamus O’Domhnaill.
