Children should not be used in Climate change debate



Concerns have been raised at this month’s meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim Council on the focus and attention that is being placed on children when it comes to climate change in this country.

 

 

The Concerns were raised by Fianna Fail Councillor Justin Warnock who feels that children that are being exploited when it comes to promoting a greener environment.

 

 

 

Cllr Warnock has asked the local authority to write to the Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar to be mindful of his concerns when it comes to using children in the climate change debate.

 

He says there are more immediate concerns facing children and that adding extra pressure on issues such as climate change is leading to psychiatric illness in young children:
