McSharry makes second Euro semi-final



Mona McSharry has qualified for the semi-final of the women’s 100 metres breaststroke at the European Shortcourse Swimming Championships in Glasgow.

The Grange swimmer is through after finishing ninth fastest overall from Friday’s morning heats with a time of 1:05:50.

McSharry is aiming to win her second medal of the competition, having already claimed bronze in the 50 metres breaststroke on Wednesday.

The Marlin’s Swimming Club member will be joined in Friday’s semi-finals by Dublin’s Niamh Coyne, who qualified by 14th overall by winning her heat in a time 1:06:12.

The semi-finals will take place on Friday evening from 17:00.
